Joined the lab in May 2024!
About me:
As a first-year PhD student at OUHSC, I’m excited to research NAD metabolism and mitochondrial function in diabetic cardiomyopathy in Dr. Lee’s lab. My focus will be studying how overexpressing mitochondrial NAD transporters impacts heart function in diabetes. This work could uncover new therapeutic approaches for improving cardiac health in diabetic patients.
Education and Previous Experience:
I have a Bachelor and Masters of Science degree in Biotechnology and Molecular Biology from the University of Warsaw, Poland. I came to Oklahoma City as a BioLAB Polish intern. For two years, I worked on brain cortical neuron mitochondria in the Aging & Metabolism Department at OMRF before joining the PhD program.
