Joined the lab in January 2021!
About me:
I am a 4th year graduate student in the Lee Lab. I work on NAD metabolism in the context of heart disease, specifically in diabetic cardiomyopathy. Through this work we have uncovered novel roles involving NAD biology and metabolic stress. Through this and future work we hope to continue to uncover new mechanisms behind heart disease that can be targeted in hopes of treating diabetic patients suffering from this disease.
Education and Previous Experience:
I graduated in 2018 with a degree in Biology from Oklahoma Christian University here in the OKC area. After that I spent 2 years working as a research technician in a Microbiology lab at OUHSC focused on the regulation of the outer membrane of gram-negative pathogens.
